The Venue Manager’s PAR Can Retrofit Audit
June 10, 2026What Makes the Standalone Configuration Different?
Traditional PAR lighting usually depends on a can-style fixture body. That setup works well in many stage, worship, auditorium, and venue environments, but it is not always the most efficient or attractive choice.
In standalone installations, the Lotus Lamp can be mounted using its included bracket system, creating a cleaner, more compact lighting setup. This helps eliminate the visual bulk of a traditional housing while still providing the powerful output, beam control, dimming performance, and color quality expected from the Lotus Lamp platform.
For facility managers, that means fewer unnecessary components, a lower-profile appearance, and more flexibility when placing or aiming lights in challenging spaces.

How the Standalone Conversion Works
The standalone setup is designed to be straightforward for a qualified installer. Before installation, the appropriate wattage and color temperature are selected directly on the lamp. From there, the EX-39/E39 mogul base and power cord assembly can be removed from the standard bracket. The bracket is then secured to the Lotus Lamp, attached to the approved mounting structure, and connected using the WC2 power adapter.
This configuration allows the lamp to be aimed and positioned with precision, making it useful for applications where light direction, mounting space, and fixture appearance all matter.
Important: Standalone installation should always be performed by a certified electrician in accordance with applicable electrical codes and installation instructions. Power must be disconnected before inspection, installation, servicing, or removal. If a ballast is present, it must be bypassed or removed before the lamp is installed.
Dual-function design: The Lotus Lamp can serve as both a PAR retrofit lamp and a standalone LED fixture.
Standard bracket system: Each lamp includes a specialized bracket designed for field conversion.
Simple mounting flexibility: The EX-39/E39 base can be removed from the bracket for standalone mounting with the WC2 adapter.
Cleaner appearance: Standalone use helps reduce the need for bulky traditional housings.
Precision aiming: The bracketed setup allows the light to be directed where it is needed most.
Broad application range: The configuration is ideal for spaces where performance, efficiency, and mounting flexibility are priorities.
Ideal Target Applications
| Model | Wattage | Lumen Output | Best Fit |
|---|---|---|---|
| PAR56 Lotus Lamp | 40W / 60W | 7,213-10,195 lumens | Smaller PAR can and compact commercial lighting applications |
| PAR64 Lotus Lamp | 100W / 150W | 18,067-24,503 lumens | Larger PAR can, higher ceiling, stage, auditorium, and venue applications |
Both PAR56 and PAR64 models are color-selectable, with 3000K, 4000K, and 5000K options built into the same lamp. This gives lighting teams the flexibility to select a warm, neutral, or cool white appearance based on the environment.
The Lotus Lamp also features CRI >90 for improved color rendering, universal 100-277VAC input, Triac and 0-10VDC dimming, and 0-100% smooth dimming for professional lighting control.
A Cleaner Way to Upgrade Facility Lighting
The HyLite Lotus Lamp’s standalone capability gives lighting professionals and facility managers another way to solve common lighting challenges. Instead of choosing between a full fixture replacement and a basic lamp swap, facilities can use a single adaptable LED solution that supports both retrofit and standalone installations.
For stages, churches, auditoriums, high-ceiling spaces, convention centers, and commercial venues, that flexibility can make a major difference. The result is a modern LED lighting upgrade with high output, precise aiming, simplified mounting options, and a cleaner, finished appearance.
